A small cat looks more like a kitten and let's agree that everything small is cute. This is probably why many other cat lovers prefer small breeds of cats. If you are one of them, then so much the better!

Discover our top 5 smallest cat breeds in the world, which we have listed in order of size from the smallest to the largest of the little ones.

You will also find some comments on their character and behaviour, to help you choose a suitable cat breed from among all the cat breeds available.

1-The Singapura

Well, the Singapura is the smallest cat in the world! This is rather an asset to go unnoticed and delight your prey during your hunting trips: your favourite activity. He has a pretty round head and large almond-shaped eyes that are very characteristic.

According to some sources, it is native to Singapore and has a withers length of 25 cm and a weight ranging from 1.8 to 2.7 kg. He is hyperactive, affectionate and also known for his seal ticket tabby short-haired tabby dress. You will need 800 to 1500$ to adopt one.

2-The Munchkin

It is ranked second on our list for its short legs which only give it 30 cm of withers and earn it the nickname "basset cat". This small feline of 2 to 5 kg comes straight from the United States of America.

The Munchkin is because of its smallness, very agile, fast and very attractive, because it always breathes that innocent and enchanting look that kittens have. Very affectionate and playful, it is an exceptional life companion that will earn you about 1000$.

3-The Korate

The Korate is a lucky cat from Thailand. Indeed, it is known to bring good luck to its owner, to whom it can be highly sensitive and deeply attached. It is characterized by its blue dress, and its large green eyes.

The Korate measures on average 25 cm in withers, for 2.5 to 4.5 kg. He is very intelligent, quick-witted and can easily learn to play ball like a dog. A cat of this breed is worth an average of 1500$. That's right, I guess even luck comes at a price.

4-The Skookum

The Skookum is obtained by crossing a Munchkin and a Laperm, precisely characterized by its small size and its curly coat all over the body, even up to the level of the tail. It originates from the United States and is very uncommon in France.

The Skookum is a little more than 15 cm lonleg withers for 2 to 4 kg and has short or medium-length hair at most, and a life expectancy of 12 to 14 years. A peculiarity of its own is that its hind legs are longer than its front legs: a little like in a rabbit.

5-The Cornish Rex

Although it is one of the smallest cat breeds in the world, the Cornish Rex has at least the recognition of being the largest cat on our list. It is generally no more than 5 kg and measures 35 cm of withers. He is appreciated for his friendly and balanced character.

It is also a very affectionate cat and sometimes a little too much: a pot of glue so to speak. He is very intelligent and friendly to everyone, he loves hugs. However, due to his very curly coat, he hates the cold. You will need between 800 and 1000$ to adopt a Cornish Rex.
